Mercari Fee Calculator

Find your Mercari payout, profit and margin after the 10% selling fee.

About this tool

This Mercari fee calculator shows your payout, profit and margin after Mercari's selling fee. Mercari keeps things simple: a single 10% selling fee, taken from the item price plus any shipping the buyer pays, and no separate processing fee for the seller. Enter your numbers below to see the itemized breakdown and your effective fee rate.

How to use it

  1. Enter the item price.
  2. Enter the shipping the buyer pays (use 0 if you offer free shipping).
  3. Enter the shipping you pay and your item cost.
  4. Tick Instant Pay if you plan to cash out with it.

How Mercari fees work

The selling fee is 10% of the item price plus buyer-paid shipping. That detail is easy to miss: if the buyer pays $10 shipping on a $50 item, the fee is 10% of $60, not $50. If you offer free shipping you pay the shipping yourself, and the fee base is just the item price.

Instant Pay (optional)$3 per cash-outUp to $600 a month, debit card

Worked example

A $50 item sells with $10 buyer-paid shipping, $8 real shipping and a $20 item cost.

LineAmount
Item price$50.00
Shipping paid by buyer$10.00
Selling fee (10% of item + buyer-paid shipping)-$6.00
Seller payment processing ($0)-$0.00
Net payout$54.00
Shipping you pay-$8.00
Item cost-$20.00
Profit$26.00

That is a margin of 43.3% and an effective fee rate of 10.0% of everything the buyer pays you.

Free shipping or buyer-paid shipping?

Buyer-paid shipping increases the base Mercari takes 10% from, so each $10 of shipping you charge costs you $1. Free shipping lowers the fee base, but you pay the real label cost yourself, so you need to raise the item price to cover it. Compare both in the calculator: on the example sale the fee is $6.00. With free shipping and a higher price the effective rate can be similar, so choose whichever helps your listing sell.

Rates and what to verify

These rates were checked on October 11, 2026 against the platform's own fee page: official source. Marketplaces change fees often, and the numbers in this tool live in one place so they can be updated quickly. Treat every result as an estimate and compare it with your own payout before you price a big order.

Things to watch out for

Older listings were updated to the new fee automatically, but check any listing you created before January 2025. Buyers pay their own buyer protection fee on top of the price, which does not come out of your payout. Cancelled orders and returns can affect what you keep. Mercari can change fees at any time, so check the official page before large decisions. See also the other reseller fee calculators.
