- Copy the result to use elsewhere.
Common use cases
- Word-based party games like Pictionary, Charades, or Taboo
- Creative writing prompts or overcoming writer's block
- Brainstorming names, ideas, or random starting points
- Vocabulary practice or a quick word-association warm-up
- Icebreaker games or classroom activities that need a random prompt
Filtering by word type
Nouns, verbs, and adjectives work differently in a sentence, so filtering to one type is useful when your game or exercise specifically calls for it — a charades-style guessing game often works better with nouns and verbs (things you can physically act out), while an adjective might be harder to mime but great for a descriptive writing prompt. Leaving the filter on "Any type" mixes all three together for the widest variety.
Things to watch out for
The word list favors common, everyday vocabulary rather than obscure or highly technical terms, so it's better suited for games and general writing prompts than specialized use. Within one batch, the generator avoids repeating a word already picked — but if you ask for more words than a filtered category contains, it will simply return as many unique words as are available in that list.

By default, no — each batch avoids repeating a word already picked, as long as the count you ask for doesn't exceed the size of the word list.
