About this tool
This converter turns any US liquid volume into all the others at once: gallons, quarts, pints, cups, fluid ounces, liters and milliliters. One US gallon is exactly 3.785411784 liters, and every other US unit is a fixed fraction of it. It runs in your browser and nothing is uploaded.
How to use it
Enter an amount, pick the unit you have, and read every other unit in the list below the box. Typing 3.5 liters, for example, shows the same volume in gallons, quarts, cups and fluid ounces. For a single pair such as ounces to milliliters, the oz to ml converter has its own table.

- Cars and fuel: fuel is sold per gallon in the US and per liter in most other countries.
- Water intake and aquariums: a 2 liter daily target is about 8.5 cups, and tanks are sized in gallons or liters.
- Paint and cleaning products: concentrate ratios are often given per gallon.
Things to watch out for
This page uses US customary units. The UK imperial gallon is about 4.546 liters, around 20% larger than the US gallon, and the imperial pint has 20 fluid ounces instead of 16. If a recipe or fuel figure comes from the UK, Canada or Australia, check which system it uses. Cups also vary: the US cup here is 236.6 ml, while a metric cup is 250 ml.
